Summary of MH session
Please note the Manual Handling session provided is an update for healthcare workers who have had previous experience and training.
Often candidates book the session with Basic Life Support on the same day.
Our Manual Handling sessions vary slightly depending which candidates are present.
However the sessions will include the following:
Principles of biomechanics
Ergonomics
Common causes of injuries
Sit to stand
Sit to sit
Hoisting
Lateral transfer and bed moves
Legislation and policies
Risk assessment
The session is an active session therefore appropriate clothing should be worn.
Candidates are expected to participate, ask questions and raise queries relevant to their work as a health care worker.
The update session lasts 3.5 hrs.

The training is used by individuals for annual updates and is used by organisations in respect of NHS Buying Solutions and CQC compliance.
